Prize places

The pot
Each place’s share

Many groups pay the top 3 to 5, depending on how many play.

Give each place a percentage of the pot. They need to add up to 100%.

Ties

Enter how many players finished in each place. Two tied for 2nd share the 2nd and 3rd place money, and the next place is 4th.

How it adds up

Places, ties and skins

Each place you pay gets its share of the pot. Tied players add up the money for the places they cover and split it equally, the way the PGA Tour does: two tied for 2nd share the 2nd and 3rd place money. If a tie runs past the last place you pay, only the paid places’ money is shared.

Every amount is rounded down to the unit you pick, so nobody is paid money that isn’t in the pot. What’s left shows as left over, and paid out plus left over always comes to the pot.

With a set amount per hole, a hole won outright pays its winner that amount, plus any tied holes carried into it. With a shared pot, each hole won is a skin, and the pot is divided by the number of skins won. Either way, you see what was paid, what’s left over and what nobody won, and they add up to the total.

This page only does the sums. Collect and pay out the money however your group already does. To keep a season’s points instead of money, use the season standings calculator or read how an Order of Merit works.
